Classical Chinese Medicine is comprehensive and holistic. Each acupuncture point addresses the physical body, the emotions, and the spirit.
In its origin this medicine was practiced as preventive. You do not need to have a 'symptom' or 'label' to begin treatment.
What to Expect:
Follow-up treatments last about 55 minutes. This time includes our conversation, health history intake, pulse reading, and the needle treatment. Once the needles are in place you rest comfortably while the treatment occurs.
Acupuncture needles are very thin, about the width of a cat's whisker. They are placed on the body in specific locations to open and enhance the flow of subtle energies. Acupuncture treatment supports that body's innate capacity to heal.
"Two years ago I started treatment with Martha for anxiety/depression issues and a life that felt too constricted. During this time I've been able to stay off medication and to try dance and yoga classes that have been a joy. Beyond this, I have gained an understanding of Five Element theory that has guided my approach to each season. Martha is a compassionate and intuitive healer who uses acupuncture but also herbs, stones, and real listening with patients who heal and grow due to her care." - Annie M. Age 63
"Martha has helped me over the past 2 years deal with crippling anxiety, severe back pain and a slew of other smaller issues that I didn't realize were affecting my daily life until they were gone." Meg F. Age 28

"I wanted to do the summer cleanse as a way to reset my body. For the three or four months prior to the cleanse I was having digestive issues and a recurring cold with sore throat. While participating in the cleanse I had no digestive problems and no symptoms of the cold/sore throat. There were many other benefits I received that i didn't expect. My sleep improved from having difficulty falling and staying asleep to getting 8-9 hours of solid, uninterrupted sleep. I had more energy throughout the day and didn't feel lethargic after eating lunch. The biggest surprise to me what that I had no anxiety during the two weeks on the cleanse, even when anxiety causing situations arose. It was fun experimenting with different food combinations and seeing my husband and children eating healthier. I feel empowered to make better food choices in service to my body and my family. "- Rebecca, age 35
"The Cleanse to me was very enlightening. It taught me new ways to think about my body and how to nourish it with tasty healthful food. Using your well-laid out menus and food and snack suggestions made the Cleanse easy. I never felt hungry or deprived. Actually, I love to cook and had fun adapting my recipes to meet the Cleanse criteria. I don't know if I can ever go back to having cereal for breakfast! Eating left-over meat with a vegetable or soup for the morning meal is going to be part of my life." - Polly, age 67
