Measuring Time in a New Way: Menopause

Every transition brings complexity & opportunity.

In Chinese Medicine, the yin principle declines as we age. The yin principle represents cooling, nourishing, moistening, suppleness, blood, hormones, collagen & fluids.  The myriad symptoms that (may) arrive in menopause - hot flashes, night sweats, dryness, insomnia, low libido, anxiety, poor focus, poor memory, thinning hair, less resilience in body, dry scalp, etc - are the expression of yin deficiency.

The transition is quite near to me. I have recently entered this new land of pause and great promise. I am rearranging the furniture in my house to make space for the crone. Her fierceness. Her knowing. Her magic.

She is you. She is me.

The wheel of the year is turning towards the cooler, darker months. Autumn & Winter, the yin seasons, are slowly striding towards us.  They come each year, their velveteen pockets overflowing with incense, dusk, mystery & quietude - inviting us to turn within and take up the life giving art of stillness, reflection and the cultivation of wisdom.

In the second half of the year, FULL MOON will be offering many classes/workshops related to nurturing the Yin element, relating to Menopause, Creativity, Herbal Medicine & Healing.

If you are one who resists, detests and/or struggles during autumn & winter, these classes are a lifeline.

Menopause, Making the Transition with Ease will be on Sunday, September 18th 4:30-6pm with Dr. OG. Space is limited. Reserve your space to sit in this circle of collective wisdom. Space is limited. Please share with friends/family who may benefit. Virtual option also offered.

In person attendance is limited. Virtual attendance is wide open.

It takes a village at each stage of life.

With love,

Martha
